Having been on a bit of a martial arts kick pun intended lately, I saw that "Kung Fu Panda" had actually gotten pretty decent reviews, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

I really like that Po's father is a duck, and that all the movie's characters are animals of one sort or another. It's a nice nod to the "animal" styles of Kung Fu, which really do exist.

The movie's central lesson--"The secret is that there is no secret"--is spot-on as well. It's good for children to realize that there's no shortcut to getting what they want, but that hard work, belief in one's self, and using one's strengths even if they are humor, cooking, and the ability to jump ten feet in the air for cookies are how to find happiness in life.
